I was thinking that should be a response to Sharpe, "if you believe that then show us the specific flaws in his articles".I don't think there is any need for concern @Lucibee. Sharpe is making more and more of a fool of himself. Nobody is paying David to damage an area of research. He is being paid to foster honest peer review. Nothing David has said can legitimately be construed otherwise. The only time this 'activism' has been tested in a legal context, it was seen to be valid and appropriate. David 's position is bulletproof and that will become clearer with time.

When you have painted yourself into a corner where else can you go?Quite. But it's the fact that he's making the accusation. Why would he even go there?

I suspect he will retire before he gets fired if his career is truly at risk. All I can think of is that he is desperately trying to save his career. And being at Oxford he will have come to think nobody else matters and nobody will take him down in the end,. He is wrong. I was at Oxford once too.
He is talking about himself. In his own parlance this is called projectional identification.Quite. But it's the fact that he's making the accusation. Why would he even go there?
So it’s been almost a year since my last crowdfunding campaign for my ME/CFS and PACE-busting reporting project. At that time, I hadn’t necessarily planned to extend it beyond my one-year commitment. There have been significant positive developments in the last twelve months, and those seem likely to continue. However, it has become clear to me that at this point it is critical to maintain the momentum,...
I would really prefer not to have to do this. As many of you know, I worked on this project for more than two years as a self-funded public service. During that phase, I took four trips to Europe (three to the U.K. and one to the Netherlands).
If I overshoot my goal—and I hope I do, as I did last year—the additional funds will be used to increase my compensated time beyond 50% and/or to cover more travel costs. I would be delighted to be able to spend more than half my time on this project
That is awesome, that would bring us over half way to the $5k fund matching. The Norwegian ME Association just announced a $650 donation on fb![]()
I'm not sure exactly where the match kicks in at, i thought it was after 99%.We already have, we’re at $2800I think we can probably hit the 4K mark by the end of the day!
Thats even better news then, we may not only get the match but surpass it by a fair amountI count from my second donation, which I made right after the announcement. It was at $74,461 or something like that.
It’s not necessarily even close to accurate, but it’s something to keep me entertained between naps![]()
