Can you please describe in detail the Osteopathy part of the Lightning Process, and what part osteopathy plays in Lightning Process being effective?
Do you think that the Lightning Process would be effective without the Osteopathy component?
In other words, is Osteopathy an essential component of the Lightning Process?

Thank you for your email and interest in the Lightning Process.
The osteopathic component is purely part of the philosophical foundations of the LP - so there is no actual hands-on osteopathy during the course.

When Lightning Process first appeared aimed at ME patients, Phil Parker Did Not give ANY indication of what Lightning actually consisted of. There was no instance of Parker stating that Lightning was based on NLP or Osteopathy, not for years. Lightning was marketed as a Mystery, so was Reverse, Mickel and Gupta therapies.
The only way to discover what Lightning (Reverse etc) actually involved was to pay up and do it.
It was only after numbers of ME people who'd done Lightning Process went public to tell others that it's basic NLP that Parker changed his marketing tactic, admitted that LP is NLP.
Some pwME were pissed off because they'd already learned the NLP techniques used in LP long before they became sick, or paid out to do Lightning.

Around 2007 I'd worked out that Lightning Process, Reverse and Mickel therapies were probably NLP/Hypnotherapy/Coaching because what John Eaton (Reverse), David Mickel and Phil Parker had in common was qualifications in NLP/Hypnotherapy and Coaching in their Bios.
The 2007 Lightning Application Form fully confirmed that. It's textbook NLP coaching questions and manipulative Agreements that kick start the Obedience Process. Because Lightning is an Obedience Training. But Parker's Application form is extreme, and includes guilt tripping manipulations .... 'Other People' have recovered, so why can't I?
Sick people have to 'Agree' with numerous manipulative statements such as
'I am willing to change negative lifestyle patterns, thought processes and limiting beliefs'
'In terms of my issues and my ability to follow instructions, I am similar enough to all those others who have used the process to recover that I am bound to make the same kind of changes as them.
'I have the responsibility for resolving these issues and the power to do that.'
Phil Parker defines ME/CFS as 'An Issue'
By the time sick people are accepted onto a Lightning Training they have been convinced they must not/cannot Question Anything about Lightning, because if they question at the Application stage they are deemed 'Not Ready' . The statement 'Are you Ready to do Lightning Process' was, until just about yesterday, on all Phil Parker's Lightning websites.
Application form: 'If you feel doubtful, cynical or just want to give it a go to see what happens, then now is probably not the right time for you, so please be honest with yourself and this form or you will probably be wasting your time and money.
Because if they do question (and many did) they are told they are being 'Negative', sabotaging their own and other's recovery etc. If they continue to question or criticise during the Lightning Training they can be thrown off the Training - because others may start questioning or criticising as well, then the Trainer will have lost their Obedience.
Application form: 'We reserve the right to terminate your training if we feel your continued participation would be unhealthy or unhelpful for you or another member of the training group. Your fees will not be refunded in these circumstances.'
I've been explaining this stuff and warning other pwME about Lightning Process and the other scam cure programs since, circa, 2006. It's soul destroying to see the mindbody 'cure' courses have exploded into a predatory Industry.
Joan Mcparland and others who did the LP Training then went public with their experiences of it, to warn everyone about it, have done the ME community a Huge Service.
No One in 2007 could have foreseen what's now going on in Norway.
