@Mike Harley Amazing, thank you! And also many thanks to your wife for all of her support. Mentioned your marathon in the latest German ME/CFS-Update (published today): https://www.mecfs.de/me-cfs-news-update-09-2018/#EUMarathon
Bulgaria done (no.19 of 28). Couldn't manage to find anyone with ME there unfortunately but really pleased to bring in £500 in donations to Invest In ME Research in just over 4 weeks since my last run. Here's some pics of my 28 hours in Bulgaria! http://www.mikeseumarathons.eu/sofia--bulgaria.html Resting now for a week or so and then it's training for Cyprus in March. Cheers for your support! www.justgiving.com/mikeseumarathons
Race report for no.19 if you wanted a look! http://www.mikeseumarathons.eu/sofia-bulgaria-oct-2018.html Next race in March in Cyprus!
Race fixtures for 2019 Doing 6 for the first time then 4 to finish the challenge in 2020 (doing UK again to end it).
3 month round-up on the challenge (good prompt ahead of the book in a couple of years) https://mikeseumarathons.blogspot.com/2018/10/augseptoct-update.html Baby is due tomorrow, no sign of her yet but I'll be back with pics soon!
I just wanted to post a bump to this thread for a particular purpose. I've been thinking/wondering about how people with ME are doing in cultures that are not robustly represented in english language. Hoping I can express myself properly here--the more we can highlight the issues around ME in places that have no/little support the wider/better representation we have to draw on. I had been tweeting the ME/cfs assoc site I found in Japan for example but they don't even have a twitter feed so it meant copying and pasting their address. Encouraging other assoc. may help 'put them on the map' in some small way. Or even help others to find each other to form assoc. This link: http://www.mikeseumarathons.eu/2019-races.html as you can see is for the races Mike hopes to run in 2019. As he has travelled he has tried to interview someone with ME from the various places he goes to. So, these will be the places he will look for someone with ME to interview in 2019. I'm hoping by highlighting this we might bear this in mind going forward and that we might consider ways we can encourage this to happen (if this is even possible).
Thanks for this. It's always a struggle for me to find patients in non-English speaking countries, particularly as I only speak limited German as a foreign language. I have someone in Latvia and Slovakia in mind for interviews but if anyone knows of someone in Cyprus, Hungary, Romania or Portugal it would be amazing if you could let me know!
Evening all. I'm doing a little Half Mara race in Gloucester, UK on Sunday as part of my training for Cyprus (no.20) Here I am sharing the limelight with road closures.... https://www.gloucestershirelive.co....oH0Zvzl5S8eeWinqxqTarU2o85WUKc5DsaSaB01sZmkDM Thanks to Rachel, Chantelle, Donna, Linda and everyone at the Gloucestershire ME/CFS Friendship Group. Look forward to meeting you all for a pint after the race.

Had a great day out in Gloucester today. Ran a PB (1hr 40) and met Gloucestershire ME/CFS Friendship Group for lunch. Lovely to see Donna and Chantelle at the finish line too. £500 in the pot for Invest In ME, now up to £15k so far.
