The website provides no EIN, identifiable officers, physical address, or specific state of incorporation. Its domain was registered on August 3, 2026, despite displaying campaign and organizer activity supposedly dating from before that.
This campaign is deceiving vulnerable ME/CFS patients and diverting donations intended for desperately needed research.
Please immediately:
Disable the campaign and prevent further donations.
Freeze or hold all related funds and payouts.
Preserve the organizer’s identity-verification, banking, transaction, access-log, and IP records for law enforcement.
Investigate the entire Human Unity Foundation website for additional fraudulent campaigns.
Provide a case or reference number if possible.

Please report it to these websites and let us know if you have. But the more reports they get the better so they act faster. It would be good if these people faced conseqeuences so it did not happen again.
REPORT HERE:
Do these today, in this order
1. Preserve evidence before the site changes. Save full-page screenshots/PDFs of the campaign, checkout showing Stripe, About, Contact, Terms, and refund pages. Preserve your correspondence, dates, headers, and the legitimate Spotfund campaign. Do not send the suspicious site identification documents.
2. Report it to Stripe immediately. Ask Stripe to disable payment collection, hold payouts, and preserve the merchant’s identity-verification, bank, IP, transaction, and account records. Use Stripe’s complaint form. Stripe’s own guidance says fraudulent transactions should also be disputed through the cardholder’s bank. Stripe fraud guidance
3. File an FBI IC3 complaint. The FBI specifically directs charity-fraud reports to IC3, and IC3 says to report even when uncertain whether a matter qualifies. File with IC3 and see the FBI charity-fraud guidance.
4. File with California’s Attorney General. The page claims Palo Alto, California, and California investigates fraudulent charitable solicitations. Use the California charity complaint form information.
5. Report the infrastructure. Report the complete campaign URL—not merely the homepage—to Dynadot, the domain registrar, and Cloudflare. Select fraud/phishing/impersonation as applicable.
6. Report it to the FTC: ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

That's one of the most legitimate looking scam websites I've ever seen. It does have the curved bubbly appearance of AI-generated websites, but pretty much the whole website works. Though some red flags:
- None of the blog buttons go anywhere: https://www.humanunityfoundation.org/blog
- Changing the language at the top doesn't do anything
- It says "Human Unity Foundation is a US nonprofit organization." at the bottom, but doesn't provide a non-profit ID number, and the US non-profit lookup doesn't show an organization with that name.
- It says hundreds of thousands of dollars have been donated, but there are almost no mentions of this company anywhere else on the internet.
- The domain was registered just a month ago.

Some other odd things that could raise eyebrows, perhaps useful for future discern. The total donation amount is cleanly rounded to the nearest hundred. The profile picture of “Whitney’s” fundraiser looks suspiciously AI generated. The text looks very much like written by an LLM. em-dashes everywhere. Written from an odd third person perspective whilst claiming “in their own words”. The donation list says “see all 428 donations” but you can only see about 10. Their blog aggregation pages uses stock images you’d expect a website builder like wix to include in a template.

The names of the images on the "campaign" pages are prepended with a short identifier showing where they really came from. Image names beginning "gfm-" are from GoFundMe; image names beginning "sf-" are from SpotFund, etc. They are replicating multiple legitimate campaigns.
There is another domain -

There is another domain -
lightofllife[.]org that uses the same template and a humanunityfoundation[.]org domain & email in a number of places. That domain is registered with Hostinger. Hostinger's WHOIS page says that the country of registration is "LT" (Lithuania).
I just reported that website to Hostinger, and within about half an hour they replied that they've suspended it. The website no longer works.
No such luck yet though with the Human Unity Foundation website.
humanunityfoundation [dot] org finally got taken down. humanunityfoundations [dot] org (with an "s" at the end), just meant for taking payments, is still active, but the website gives errors, so I think it's not functioning.
Oh, poor Whitney. Honestly, it’s my nightmare fuel — thinking about finding myself in a critical medical emergency when my brain has absolutely no resilience left to handle the stress (due to very severe ME/CFS). Hope things turn around for the better for him.
