Very impressive. We are really starting to see the impact of the large LC community chiming in and fully recognizing the overlap, how our fates are tied together.

In the LC sub-reddit, I'm seeing that more and more, expressing how if medicine hadn't failed us, LC wouldn't be such a giant mess.

Goodish news! Looks like they are planing to cover LC in a future ep.

text: Weekly Pod w/Jon Stewart, 6/27: "..the long COVID community...we're talking about millions of people residual effects from getting these infections & have been debilitated..progress and research, glacially slow..that'll be really interesting to get into.."

Not just the people, the idea is fundamentally the same: your illness is invalid if we don't understand it, and also no we won't be doing any research past the most superficial because there's nothing to understand here, we understand it perfectly, we just can't explain it.

Although COVID has really not helped things here, if anything medicine is more defensive than ever about proper attribution of disease to causes. The profession started with the unwavering feeling that COVID causes acute illness and only acute illness and that's final, and still hasn't budged from that, blaming anything but the obvious cause.

I note the wording doesn't include ME/CFS. I wonder if they go with the neglected for years angle or the 'this is new' angle...

Not sure where people can watch this. I think in the US it's available on Youtube. IIRC it's available on HBO/Max. As a taste of what an episode on Long Covid / ME could be like:
