Aripiprazole - Abilify

I take abilify. I have it because I developed bipolar delusions about 14 years ago and so I get an injection every month of 400mg.
I am a lot better with my ME/CFS nowadays as I first got it back in 1991 while a student. I do wonder if Abilify stops me from relapsing but I can't really answer that question. I also wonder whether having had ME/CFS caused my bipolar delusions.

Did you have weight gain? That’s like 12mg a day which is alot

Question on behalf of my daughter, very severe for a couple of years now
Has abilify helped anyone with sensory overload, especially sound intolerance?
So far, it only helps me temporary with sensory overload and sound intolerance.
For a week or so, because I crash again
Than i titrate up and get some temporary benefit.

Maybe I still need to find my ideal dosage.
I’m at 1.8

For me, yes. Abilify worked wonders. For the first time in a long time, I was even able to go back to work. I'm now very severe again, but it still helps me use my phone and function a bit better.

Sorry for being off-topic, but when it comes to efficiently blocking out sound with ear plugs, the Honeywell Max Lite were a revelation for me.
I first learned of them thanks to a mention here:

I don't think 2 mg tablets are even available. Most people use the liquid formulation. My doctor writes me a compounded prescription, and my pharmacy prepares it as capsules specifically for me.

Abilify is not soluble in water. You can make a liquid by adding crushed tablets to suspending liquids like Ora products, which should be available on Amazon, etc.

That sort of thing is well beyond me at this point (like it's hard to get consistent dosage, ora blend itself is very expensive in Australia), and I've asked at compounding pharmacies, they're either extremely expensive or not terribly interested.

Hi,
Abilify isn't working as miraculously as it did last year, despite a two-month break... Has anyone else tried Rexulti or Vraylar? This medication is the only one that has worked for me—along with nebivolol—to calm my orthostatic intolerance and adrenaline issues.

Abilify is finally getting a new trial in LC/ME/CFS, though it seems to have some less-than-ideal study design. At least it's double-blind and placebo-controlled.

Post-acute Infectious Syndrome - Aripiprazole Symptom Evaluation (PAIS-AriSE)

A shame

I don't think Abilify is the answer to the treatment question. I do think it could help give an answer as to what on earth is going on with the illness.

Hopefully were now moving at a speed where we won't be needing to rely on it to elucidate anything though...

Strongly disagree with this comment. There are people on this forum who repeatedly get their lives partially back for portions of the year until Abilify wears off again. And others have never experienced a poop out after years on Abilify.

You might want to wait decades for your magic bullet, but we should be looking for meds that help people now.

Hi everyone, I would like to get your advice on Abilify.

So as you know, I have been using it and modafinil, and I’m quite happy with the results so far.

As long as I avoid PEM, my fatigue is no longer crushing anymore. It’s still bad, but on the days I use it, I don’t feel like I want to pass out from fatigue anymore.

I am interviewing with companies and hopefully going to transition back to work soon.

So I am decently satisfied with QoL for now, until P2 results are out and we can know whether FM have solved the case

Now my dilemma is, I take it Thursday and Friday. Then rest of the days I don’t because I’m very scared of tolerance.

However, I am wondering if it might be a good idea to dose more often? am just terrified of tolerance

I don’t think it’s the Dara improving me because by now if it worked I would be cured. So it’s definitely the LDA.

From my personal experience with LDA since it has such a long half life that skipping days makes little difference compared to daily dosing a lower dose. No matter what steady state dose I have in my system eventually it doesn't work as well and I have to take a break for 4-6 months before it will start working again like before.
But if you take it 7 days a week, no matter how long the half life, that is still 3 times less than 2 days a week
