Sadly Rome Marathon has been cancelled due to coronavirus.
They've kept my entry fee for next year so I need to decide whether I'm going to add another year to the challenge or end it all in Florence in November.
It's a real shame as I had meetings lined up with patients and the ME Association in Rome and there was talk of a very big donation.
I don't want to let them down by not running next year but it's a significant increase in cost and an extra 3 months of training to add on so it's a lot to consider.
Anyway, no.25 is now going to be Hamburg in Germany, unless it's called off of course for the same reasons.
So my races in Rome and Hamburg were cancelled so I decided to run a marathon near my house.
I ran my fastest ever time and so far have raised nearly £2.5K for Invest In ME.
Thanks to this amazing platform, I've made contact and interviewed someone from Hungary who told me their story and how M.E is perceived there.

Great interview, thanks @Mike Harley. I'm sure that the awareness you have raised around Europe is worth many times the considerable amount of funds that you have raised.I think most of them just don't. It is almost like it doesn't really exist. Most doctors have some very vague and not particularly accurate knowledge and even the bit more knowledgeable ones don't know enough and tend to give bad or inadequate medical advice. I have never heard of any medical professional here who knew about PEM and the importance of pacing.
- How do doctors and government officials perceive ME/CFS in Hungary?

I'm trying to raise £42,195 to reflect the 42.195km in a marathon!
Had some really good media support so far thanks to Tea Pavkovic in Croatia.

Tea has been an amazing support in translating and helping me gather the interviews from ME patients there.
