Long Covid, ME/CFS, and the Need for Allyship
OT with Long Covid who noticed the back story of ME. Rather long but well-informed. So many OTs, PTs and nurses. Really puts to shame what was done at Royal Free and other outbreaks, to have simply abandoned them like that. There should be huge implications as this is obviously an occupational health issue, illness brought not just by the profession but actively made worse by the reaction to it. There should be billions in compensation for this, once we know the true scale. And there are precedents for this, with miners and other professions whose health hazards were brushed aside.
(I noticed that the forum embeds Medium links so not sure if it works. Alternative link.)
It’s a long article but worth a read I feel the writer seems to have put in the effort to understand and describe the wider context Long Covid has emerged into.
