NIH: Accelerating Research on ME/CFS meeting, 4th and 5th April 2019

Cut out for me, too. I've been trying to absorb what I can, but my brain has given up following it. :-)

....and it's gone again.

This doesn't seem to be anything other than a simple inconsiderate cutting of the stream at the other end whenever they decide.

No notice, and even worse it disconnects my end so it won't resume when they do, and as they haven't said when they plan on resuming what am I supposed to do, keep refreshing the page to see if it starts again, until next Christmas?

I know the majority of the people there are trying to help but someone in admin or the technical staff is just rude.

I'll try to get back on for the next presentation – Klimas – in 30 minutes. This one is obviously a lost cause. Too bad, I was so happy about the great talk from a very young researcher!

In the end i think his work on metabolomics will be more useful then the philosophical implications of medical research or theories about how things work

Yeah, maybe it's the social media influence. Whenever I hear someone speaking about medicine quote Hippocrates, I hear ducks in the background ... Trying to be polite here.

// he may be doing valuable research but has been influenced a touch by the 360 assault of pop culture. My response to pop wisdom is "If you're getting #Woke, something about you is broke"

ahh, nevermind me, I'm frustrated with being sick and generally po'd about everything

I've only watched for about the last hour, but had no problems using this-

https://videocast.nih.gov/live.asp?live=31636&bhcp=1
That is the link I am using.

It doesn't behave like a net problem, it behaves like a firewall slamming down.

It seems deliberate, probably on a schedule, at x time the stream gets cut no matter what is actually happening.

It's bizarre, I've seen a lot of weird ways of doing stuff on this sort of thing but even by those standards this is rude.

Are they currently on break? Instead of a black screen, I have the blue title screen. No audio or video.

They would appear to be, if the information I think I may have dedcued is correct then they should, technically, be back in 1 minute.

So say at any point in the next 15, coffee machines aren't what they used to be (Tea ladies were faster)

ETA - video has recommenced, no talking, just milling, maybe they are going to make some bread in this bit?

Regarding the immunometabolism talk it was interesting... have there been any high quality studies examining metabolism in ME/CFS in non-immune cell types? Or have they all only looked at plasma? I wonder is the hypometabolism finding restricted to immune cells or more global?

Do subtitles work for someone??? I activate them but don´t appear in screen when i have it not full-screened (it did below in a textbox but so much asynchronized) , but when i put video onto full-screen mode, not subtitles at all).

I use Chrome browser.

Thanks!!
