Just wanted to highlight this post from the SequenceME thread from 2024 that was the catalyst for the Schmidt Initiative supporting Phase 1 of Sequence ME. It obviously still took a lot of hard work and persistence by AfME to secure the funding but this posted highlighted Schmidt as a possible funder initially.

I think there is a thread on here about how some people will declare all the ancillary diagnosis because they are afraid or ashamed to admit they have ME/CFS.

I can see lots of results about him donating to prop up support for AI but nothing on medical issues. He also doesn't seem to have a charity or other financial vehicle for donations, so other than the fact that he has far more money then he will ever need it doesn't look like he's particular good target to be honest.
