Exhaustion in ME/CFS, what is it and what causes it - discussion thread

Discussion moved from this thread But the question is - what is 'exhaustion' in the context of ME/CFS. We have little evidence that it is actually depletion of energy reserves or a 'run down battery'. It certainly seems to feel like that but there is no shortage of oxygen or glucose and almost...

    Avoiding crashes as a treatment

Not sure if there are many other examples, but Ron Davis mentions one potentially successful case (or could be spontaneous remission) of someone recovering after avoiding crashes for a year: "One researcher had ME and she didn't have a crash and after a year she got better."

    The “Permanent Worsening” Phenomenon

In the patient community, it seems somewhat common to refer to instances where PEM (or a crash) led to worsening of the condition which was permanent. I have however yet to find a reference to this in the literature, if someone knows of one, I would be grateful as it is of interest to me, thanks!

    My experience with the vivosmart4

It's an interesting toy and PEM is visible in the data it collects. It tracks steps per day (imprecisely), heart rate, stress level, body battery, sleep phases. I'm not sure what measurements the stress level and body battery are based on. The body battery is the measure that seems most...
