That's disgusting that they blocked you, Robert. Your comment was polite and informative.

They seem to have blocked everyone with a differing opinion.

I've just realised it was the Society of Medicine CEO who tweeted the congratulations and is blocking posts. I vaguely assumed it was the Occ health people. Oh well, I think my tweet still makes sense.
Not so surprising that SOM are blocking us - Wessely is or has been their president.

CEO of the Society for Occupational Medicine, not the Royal Society of Medicine.

Disappointing that so many people have been blocked. Reading the comments I was impressed by how polite and accurate most of them were – in contrast to many Twitters threads on other non-ME/CFS topics.

I think his response just shows how effective the smear campaign against critics and people with ME/CFS has been.

Oops, thanks Robert. So my tweet does make sense!
I agree the smear campaign continues and reaches the top of far too many clinical organisations. It's very disheartening and very wrong.

From many comments, it seems like the SOMCEO account has mass blocked pwME. They like their bubble and don't want to hear about what it leaves behind.

I wonder if it might be posting the trial that proves him wrong on gulf war syndrome, and see what he says. Probably a sure blocker.

Also this regarding Dr Robert Haley's long research into GWI. During all this time SW has been spouting his own self-opinionated nonsense, and heavily influencing government thinking on gulf war illness, pension entitlements, etc. Basically for SW and the BPS brigade, its all in your head until proven otherwise ... and even then they won't change their beliefs; their "science" is really all about their own beliefs dressed up as science. Charlatan is one of the many words that comes to mind, and I'd better not say here.

This is censorship, and particularly ugly at that. They refuse to hear from patients, simply silence us at every opportunity and abuse their influence and privilege to do so. I think it's worth doing something, especially as it's a pattern.

Even the weird stuff about "debates" in Norway features people who blocked anyone criticizing them. What a ridiculous situation.

It's pretty utopian really. The BPS State, and woe betide anyone decrying it.

The Society of Occupational Medicine, as far as I am aware, is about as important as the North Croydon Taxidermy Society.

I would have thought it an embarrassment to Wessely that anyone like that should offer him a free membership - presumably to curry some sort of favour or other.

I expect SW could come up with some BPS theory about why taxidermy subjects ended up that way, and to just get themselves a life.

Except that Madan et various other psychosocial types Occupational Health Guidance on “CFS/ME” remains in place as the NHS guidance to employers (Occupational Health Advisers). Eg https://www.nhshealthatwork.co.uk/images/library/files/Clinical excellence/CFS_employers_leaflet.pdf

And this is still likely to be having a detrimental impact on anyone being pressured due to strict sick absence policies, frequent or long term sick absence, trying to get employers to allow reasonable adjustments such as phased return , trying to get Ill health pension.
